Who is CheckFreePay and what other businesses are you in?
CheckFreePay is the market leader for walk-in bill payment services. That's because, unlike other providers, we have ONE business focus: walk-in payments.

How do I become a CheckFreePay Agent?
Fill out the Agent Request Form and a CheckFreePay representative will contact you to discuss opportunities.

What equipment or software do I need to get started?
For agents providing Authorized Walk-In Bill Payment Services, CheckFreePay provides the necessary equipment and software. All you need to provide is an analog phone line and an electrical outlet close to the equipment. Those agents providing Non-Contracted Walk-In Bill Payment Services only will need to provide their own equipment, which includes a Windows-based PC (with the Windows 98 or higher operating system), receipt printer and Internet connection.

What point-of-sale materials are available?
We provide you a complete point-of-sale package at no charge. It includes posters for your walls and windows, static cling decals and banners – in English and Spanish.

Do you provide training? Is it on-site?
CheckFreePay provides on-site training for agents providing Authorized Walk-in Bill Payment services. Agents providing Non-Contracted Walk-In Bill Payment can contact technical support to get started.

How do you determine the commission earned on each transaction?
Commissions vary based on the bills you accept. Call our toll free number (800.309.7668) to learn more about the opportunities in your area.

Does the customer receive a receipt of payment?
Yes, all walk-in bill payment and premium services generate a paper record and transaction number for each payment.

What are the benefits of offering the Authorized Walk-In Payment service?
CheckFreePay Authorized Walk-In Bill Payment offers a full suite of features, including real-time posting, account look-up so you can verify the account number is legitimate, and the backing of CheckFree Corporation, now part of Fiserv, a market leader in electronic bill payment. What are the benefits of offering the Non-Contracted Walk-In Bill Payment service?
Non-Contracted Walk-In Bill Payment is an easy way to add hundreds of billers to an existing walk-in payment service. Because it is regulated by CheckFreePay and not the utility companies, you have an opportunity to earn a greater profit on each transaction. Non-Contracted payments are delivered to the biller within 2-3 business days. Call a CheckFreePay representative for more information.

What options do I have related to how I handle the payments I collect?
As a CheckFreePay agent, you can choose which way you prefer to handle the payments you collect each day. With Agent Banking, you deposit funds into your own account, providing access to the cash. Or, you can choose Premium Banking and let CheckFreePay do the work for you. You deposit funds into an account owned and paid for by CheckFreePay, eliminating the hassle of account reconciliation and returned items. Premium Banking carries a small monthly fee.
